Build better future for your children

Mr Felix Ibrahim, the Northern Regional Director of Information Services Department, has called on parents in the region to build a better future for their children by sending them to school.

He said this was the only way the high illiteracy rate in the Region could be reduced.

Mr Ibrahim said this when he launched a one week regional public education campaign on government policies and programmes and on the need for unity, peace and national cohesion.

He said the Metropolitan, Municipal and districts to be covered include, Tamala Metropolitan, Yendi Municipal, Central Gonja and Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo districts.

Mr Ibrahim appealed to the people in the region to sustain the peace they are enjoying for government to implement its development agenda for the Region.

Alhaji Shamrock Abdulai Mahama, Assistant Director of Ghana Education Service said the Yendi Municipality has 96 kindergarten, 160 primary schools and 30 junior high schools which makes it possible for every child to have the opportunity of attending school.
